SMTP4DEV Crashes in Windows 7

Feb 7, 2010 at 10:42 PM

I cannot get my local PHP app to send email to SMTP4DEV, so I am trying to see if SMTP4DEV works using telnet.

As soon as I issue a "HELO" statement it crashes.  If I send a "RCPT TO: (address)" it tells me, "501 Must specify to address <address>" no matter what email address I give it.

Is this a problem with Windows 7?  I have even tried running it in Windows XP compatibility mode.

Thanks.

Nope, it works just fine in Wndows 7 here.

Hope that helps track down your issue.

I see what tomsimon saw in Windows 7.

I fixed it by updating my local test website to enclose the RCPT TO address in angle brackets.
